Job Description:
Overview: As Enterprise Data Architect, you will be a key member
of First Citizens Bank's Information Technology organization. This
position establishes and implements the overall data management
technological direction of the bank. Also, the role provides
strategic enterprise data technical vision while directing
immediate data architecture initiatives. This position ensures the
overall quality of technology data implementations across multiple
domains and leads the design and integration of key data storage
and systems. Responsibilities:
- Technical Strategy - Drives enterprise-wide data management
architectural vision and strategy. Establishes a data management
roadmap that translates high-level business planning information
into application needs and solutions.
- Business Support and Technical Consultation - Provides
technical direction for the Bank's annual investment in all data
technology areas, including data infrastructure, architecture,
management, integration, quality, reporting, and analytics.
Establishes collaborative, cross-functional relationships within IT
and the business and communicates information and provides advice
to drive enterprise data architecture decisions forward. Offers
data guidance to application development teams. Collaborates
effectively with business partners to understand how critical
business concepts are captured in data and to solve complex
problems and meet business needs. Communicates a clear vision for
IT management and senior technical staff to ensure maximum leverage
of both purchased and developed technology.
- Technical Expertise - Provides data architecture thought
leadership to cross-functional teams in the areas of advanced data
techniques, including data modeling, data access, data integration,
data visualization, data discovery, statistical methods, database
design and implementation. Utilizes expertise to partner on the
design of enterprise data solutions, planning technology
migrations, vendor or product selection, and solution integration.
Designs enterprise data warehouses and departmental/competency data
marts that allow business to derive corporate strategies and
actionable tactics from the data, optimizing for reporting and
analytics.
- Architecture - Designs, creates, and maintains the conceptual
data infrastructure to support data quality, data stewardship, data
integration, data migration and system collaboration in support of
business model and information needs. Documents the blueprint of
the data infrastructure in text documents and graphic diagrams that
can be leveraged by the enterprise, including master plan of the
enterprise data locations, data flows and data availability. Sets
standards, policies, guidelines, and best practices which ensure
that data assets are managed appropriately, including standardizing
data definitions, data formats, and the acceptable storage,
integration and usage of data for high data quality and
unquestionable data reliability. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree
and 10 years of experience in Application Development, Systems
Engineering, or Information Technology management. OR High School
Diploma or GED and 14 years of experience in Application
Development, Systems Engineering, or Information Technology
management. Additional Requirements:
- Working experience in financial services and retail banking
product development experience.
- Experience in developing data warehouse solutions and
end-to-end development life-cycle support and SDLC processes
- Knowledge of database platforms, data mesh architecture, and
application designs that cross those platforms.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and data modeling skills
(logical, physical, semantic etc.,)
- Experience in technology infrastructure management.
- Substantive experience leading data technology and delivery
across multiple platforms (ex: Netezza, Infosphere, Denodo,
Collibra, Snowflake).
- Experience with Data Movement & Consumption (ETL, DataStage,
Informatica).
- Experience building and sustaining credibility with senior
leaders across an organization.
- Ability to prioritize investment on new data-related
technologies in conjunction with business units.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to define new data
needs.
- Ability to maximize data-based decisions for key business
units.
- Outstanding Leadership & Communication skills.
- Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW). Preferred Qualifications:
- Financial Services industry experience.
