Job Description:

TARGAN will be transitioning from QuickBooks to a to-be-determined ERP system, commensurate with its status from R&D to the commercialization of its unique product in the biotech industry. The Senior Accountant will be coming in on the ground floor to provide accounting support to the Controller. This person will record daily and monthly transactional activity while adhering to GAAP and TARGAN accounting policies (still in development) that includes record preparation, research, and reporting related to, but not limited to, general ledger activities, month-end closing activities, reconciliation of accounts as directed, financial-related reports, and schedules. This role will be key in providing support for the annual audit and providing key information to our bank relationships as needed. This person will help improve and document the financial controls of the business as it continues to grow. In addition, this role will be significant in supporting the assignment of special projects by Controller. The successful candidate will understand the demands and pace of a start-up organization.

Key Job Responsibilities:

Assist in development and analysis of the forecast and budget processes
Consolidate monthly and quarterly results and prepare financial reports
Prepare P&L statements and analyze month and variances, comparing results to budget and prior year
Build sophisticated business models for planning, performance measurement, and to drive sound decision making for store growth and acquisitions
Develop, maintain, and distribute ad-hoc reports and financial models as needed
Track and report capital expenditures variances versus budget
Streamline systems to improve ability to analyze complex data and make recommendations
Increase productivity by developing automated reports, and coordinating information requirements
Clearly and concisely communicate financial information to non-financial mangers
Anticipate organization's analytical needs and act proactively
Artistic capabilities for creating Pitch Decks

Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
3-5 years of public accounting experience
Working knowledge of GAAP
Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work with auditors and help maintain banking relationships
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, etc.) and other Microsoft applications
Experience independently developing financial and operational models to support major business initiatives
Ability to import/organize/analyze large data sets from disparate sources
Exceptional analytical skills
Strong financial controls documentation
Self-starter with ability to thrive working independently and in a team environment

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

FP&A experience
CPA experience

Working Conditions:

General office environment; This position will be subject to mostly controlled but potential varying internal environmental conditions, including changes in temperature and noise that are within acceptable safety levels common to a warehouse environment.
