Do you have an eye for quality and enjoy implementing and coordinating test processes across a global organization? We're looking for someone to own the LTE verification process and conduct hands-on testing to ensure quality products. Responsibilities for this role also include planning and coordinating LTE certification tasks. At Garmin, we're integrating cellular technology into our products to seamlessly connect our customers to what's important in their lives. You'll work on a diverse mix of global products across Garmin's industry-leading business segments and be the focal point for LTE verification. In the LTE Verification Engineer role, you will be responsible for partnering with internal customers and external vendors to create and implement an overall verification plan for LTE to deliver best-in-class connected products on schedule. You will be a part of a team dedicated to serving Garmin's wide range of wireless verification and certification needs in a fast-paced environment at Garmin's office located in Cary, NC. Essential functions of the role include: * Define, plan, coordinate and execute LTE verification successfully by bringing together stakeholders, establishing milestones and identifying obstacles on the critical path for Garmin's wide range of products* Maintain and adapt the LTE verification process to ensure accurate and efficient validation for Garmin's global products* Coordinate internal and external LTE verification activities, including interfacing with external certification test labs* Review internal and external reports for accuracy and completeness* Identify and communicate verification related risks and suggest best means for avoiding or reducing the risks* Provide clear options and leadership for recovery plans as needed, displaying excellence in project management through identifying critical milestones, gating items and priorities, determining deadlines for deliverables on critical path, and communicating to cross-functional team members* Effectively track, manage and support multiple projects and priorities* Read, understand, and properly interpret internal and external requirements in order to create overall product verification plans* Mentor and provide guidance to less experienced Engineers (levels 1 & 2)* Travel domestically and internationally to support verification activities Qualified candidates possess a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or another relevant field from a four-year college or university AND a minimum of 5 years' relevant experience OR Master of Science Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or another relevant engineering field AND a minimum of 4 years' relevant experience with a 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Other requirements include: * Experience creating cellular-based, system test plans for end products (devices), both live network and in lab, and coordinating testing activities across remote teams* Experience in training other engineers in test execution, debugging and report generation* Experience creating automated test suites using cellular or other RF test equipment* Ability to explain and document industry standards and requirements across multiple organizations with varying technical details* Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills* Strong project management skills* Highly motivated and self-directed Desirable Qualifications * Experience with FCC, CE, PTCRB, GCF, CTIA, carrier approvals and country certifications or homologations* Experience coordinating verification activities across a global organization* Understands manufacturing and supply chain issues as they relate to phase-in of certification-driven design changes* Knowledge in worldwide regulations and certification schemes for Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, NFC payments, Apple MFi, CarPlay, AirPlay and Android Auto* 5+ years in electronics manufacturing, test or design environment Garmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
