Your Role and Responsibilities The IBM Z AIOps team is looking for an experienced z/OS Software Engineer that has knowledge of or is interested in both software performance and analytics tools. The open position is for a z/OS based Software Performance Engineer (Band 8 or Band 9) to provide technical leadership to our team as we develop an advanced approach to IT operational analytics. The Z AIOps team develops a large portfolio of IBM tools for customer to manage the mainframe in their IT environment, many of which are now incorporating analytics capabilities to predict/prevent issues before they occur. As a Z AIOps software performance engineer you will: -- Define performance objectives and driving a focus on performance into all aspects of our software development and support processes. -- Create performance test plans, execute performance tests, create automation of those tests, perform analysis of the performance results, and work with development to make performance improvements where needed. -- Ensure all the appropriate teams within Z AIOps have the required focus on performance to influence our product content, design, development, support, etc. -- Play a key role in improving the performance of our IBM offerings, creating best practices, produce client reports, and respond to questions from IBM sales and our customers. -- Act as the primary face of performance to the lab, the sales team, our partners, and our customers. -- Ensure product performance related best practices and Go-to-Market collateral are planned for upfront and delivered. -- Understand what each area needs from a performance perspective in order for our Z AIOps portfolio to be successful in driving our organization to provide that input. Required Technical and Professional Expertise 3+ years experience with both Z/OS Internal and External candidates. 3+ years experience in all phases of software development including architecture, design, coding, unit testing, functional testing, and performance testing/analysis. 3+ years experience in software programming for product development and/or test automation. Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise Experience executing performance tests and analysis on the z/OS platform. Experience creating test automation. Experience with Machine Learning technologies. Experience working in Linux environments.
