In this highly technological and rising market, we are developing and providing these Electrical Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) across the globe.As Hardware Engineer, you will design, debug, and benchmark system components spanning control electronics and power electronics modules as a key member of our global R&D team. You'll have the opportunity to use your hardware and test engineering skills to improve our product portfolio working in our advanced R&D laboratories in one of our several Product testing and innovation facilities. This position reports to

Manager - Hardware R&D U.S

Your responsibilities

• Responsible for the development and debugging of systems components used in the design and improvement of ABB's EV charging Systems
• Benchmark EV charging system design through testing and other technical analysis approaches
• Contribute to control firmware development as needed in the system integration and test processes
• Monitor trend and competitor activities in the EV charging systems field to be on top of state-of-the-art technologies
• Work collaboratively with product engineering, quality assurance and service colleagues on product release and customer support activities
• Support the development and improvement of EV Charging standards Your background
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics or related field is required with a minimum of 2 or more years of in power electronics hardware design and development
  • In lieu of having a degree, we will consider directly related hardware engineering experience with 5 or more years of experience
  • Master's degree, and/or direct industry knowledge of electric vehicle or EV charging a plus
  • Knowledge of power converter control system and modeling is highly preferred
  • Experience with, or knowledge of any of the following is preferred:
  • Electrical systems integration
  • Embedded Software programming
  • Electrical Safety training
  • Professional Engineer certification
  • Must be comfortable working in a highly collaborative, global team environment
  • Excellent English language speaking, reading and writing skills and abilities are required
  • Must have a very strong analytical skills with an inquisitive engineering problem solving mindset
  • Ability to travel up to 20% is required, both domestically and internationally
  • Salary range for this position: 75K -95K
