The Program Manager is responsible for planning, leading, organizing, and motivating program matrixed teams to achieve a high level of performance and quality in delivering programs that provide exceptional business value to Global Knowledge customers and stakeholders. The Program Manager will be responsible for managing several concurrent high visibility global programs using methods in a fast-paced environment that will cross multiple business divisions with distributed teams. The Program Manager will play a critical role in driving teams to execute on programs for our customers. The ideal candidate must be willing to roll-up your sleeves and be a contributor to the team s success while maintaining focus on end goal and benefits the program will deliver to the client.

* At an enterprise level, leading and managing large, complex enterprise-level programs consisting of multiple matrixed teams and/or requiring integration with other activities outside the organization.

* At a team level, playing a consultative role to help put in place the appropriate people, process, and technology and coaching members as needed to optimize the efficiency of the program team

* In situations that require a unique approach, using good judgment and skill to develop a program management approach that is suitable for planning and managing the effort to achieve the program goals within designated constraints.

In performing these roles, the Program Manager will be expected to use a high level of knowledge and experience in blending traditional program management principles and practices in the right proportions to fit large, complex, mission-critical, enterprise-level program and with the appropriate level of planning and provide the right balance of customer satisfaction and profitability.

The Program Manager works closely with Product Line Sales Engineers, Product Managers, National and Territory Account Executives, Contractors / Vendors, Subject Matter Experts, Operations, Content Learning, Technical Services and Sales Support to ensure that the training program meets the business requirements defined by the customer. The Program Manager will report to the Senior Director of Client Solutions.


Provides day-to-day program management for programs within assigned accounts:

* Initial Analysis / Pre-Sales Support

* Program Scope Management

* Time / Resource Management

* Cost Management

* Communications Management

* Risk Management

* QA / Continuous Process Improvement

Assists in growing assigned accounts by establishing strong relationships and uncovering hidden training needs and sharing information with the National or Territory Account Executive assigned to the customer to increase follow-on sales.


Manages matrixed resources assigned to program team, mainly responsible for monitoring progress on the project and facilitating communication to complete deliverables.


* Must exhibit a thorough knowledge of Global Knowledge s training products (courses), available training delivery modalities (Classroom, Virtual, Self-Paced, and Connected Learning) and training services. Training services include:

* Subject Matter Expert (SME) Services

* Assessment

* Mentoring

* Gap Analysis

* Training Materials

* Vouchers

* Books

* 3rd Party Products / Services

* Custom Training Development

* Hosted Learning Management / Portal Services

* Resource Rental

* 3rd Party Training Product / Services

* Must exhibit a thorough knowledge of Global Knowledge s internal process (operations) for costing and for the effective and efficient delivery of all our products (courses) and training services

* Must be well versed in the creation and management of all SOLVE methodology program deliverables

* Must have an intermediate understanding of legal contracting, finance, and accounting standard policies and procedures

* Additional program / project skills include:

* Pre-Sales

* Needs analysis, requirements gathering and documentation

* Project P&L and Statement of Work (SOW) development

* Resource on-boarding and management

* Post-Sales

* Developing and delivering client Change Orders

* Instructor / SME management

* Listening and negotiating

* Managing internal and external expectations

* Conflict management

* Analyzing data

* Time management and organization

* Development of policies / procedures


BA or BS or equivalent experience is required. Degree in education, organizational development, instructional design, or business administration recommended. Experience in project management, PMI or other relevant certification highly recommended. Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred.

To be considered, candidates should demonstrate the following experience:

* 3-5+ years of experience in large-scale training projects involving multiple delivery modes (instructor led training, web-based delivery, virtual instructor led sessions, assessment, evaluation, etc), and development resources across instructional disciplines (instructional design, multimedia, delivery, etc). Experience should include management of training projects through entire training lifecycle (needs analysis delivery and ultimately final evaluation)

* Strong interpersonal skills including mentoring, coaching, collaborating, and team building

* Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills with an ability to manage competing demands

* Strong knowledge and understanding of business needs with the ability to establish/maintain high level of customer trust and confidence

* Excellent oral and written communications skills and experience interacting with business and IT individuals at all levels including the executive level.

* Creative approach to problem-solving with the ability to focus on details while maintaining the big picture view.

* Background in working with compliancy based training programs

* Management of project financials and project teams of 10+ resources

* Background with instructional design/learning or organizational development preferred

* Limited travel (up to 15%) required for some client assignments and sales meetings

* Experience participating in sales cycle for complex services projects a plus (experience with consultative/solution selling methodology highly desired)

* Working knowledge of learning management technologies preferred

* PC proficiency with Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
