The IM Business Relationship Manager (BRM) is the interface between the business (Supply Chain and Manufacturing) and the IT organization. Role serves as a trusted adviser and the key point of contact and escalation point for IT business stakeholders. The BRM acts as advocate on behalf of the IT organization to ensure business stakeholders understand and support IT strategy, processes and controls. The Business Relationship Manager (BRM) is responsible for ensuring alignment on priorities, strategy, projects, goals, business cases for transformation projects, tactical projects as well as smaller changes. Involved in defining the solution directions and application roadmap development. Interprets internal or external business issues and recommends solutions/best practices . The BRM has a good understanding of the business, processes as well as the applications supporting their business area. This enables the BRM to guide and support the business as well as the IT teams who deliver services for these applications. Scope: Area: Activities will be mainly focused on Supply Chain in North America in all areas like planning, procurement, master data, order management, inventory management and fulfilment. The role also covers some aspects of Developing Markets (Central & South America) as well as Manufacturing. Problem Complexity - Problem range from very complex (many systems, processes and stakeholders involved) to relatively simple problems but stakeholders are not aligned. Takes a broad perspective to identify solutions but can also dive into the details. For example: Contribute to the development of a roadmap of projects moving from current state to a desired state or the development of a change request is not making progress. Impact - Failure to achieve results would normally have serious results and may require additional expenditure of resources to correct and/or achieve goals. For example: Business operating plans depend on delivery of change requests and up time of applications. Business results are directly affected. Freedom to act - Works independently with guidance from manager on direction and in the most complex situations. For example: Initiates and influences relationships with and between business managers during the design, management, and implementation of business change. Interactions - Interacts with management, BSA's, users and technical staff. For example: Collaborates with business leaders to translate the roadmap into action and drive prioritization of projects, ensure alignment with Enterprise Architecture, balance near term value with long term viability, guide solution direction, leads issue solving meetings, ensures on time delivery of changes by the development team. The Ideal Candidate: Understands the end to end Supply Chain business and processes in America, Supply Chain IT challenges as well as the various systems in the complex application landscape of Supply Chain and is able to learn new processes and applications quickly Can quickly build relationships with key stakeholders on both business and IT side and become a trusted advisor for IT business stakeholders Understands the IT Support processes and how to influence these in support of business needs Can optimize processes and application functionality Has experience with advancing ideas into projects and ensure on-time delivery and value realization Takes initiative and drives for results Primary Responsibilities: The BRM possesses and demonstrates broad value chain understanding and deep knowledge of a business partner's area. Establishes and maintains a strong relationship with appropriate level key stakeholders. Understands and anticipates direction of the business and identifies opportunities and makes recommendations to support the business future state. Drives the resolution of escalated IT issues. Participates in short- and long-term strategic planning sessions with VCPs to improve business processes. Provides input to the prioritization of IT initiatives based on organization needs/strategy, IT workload and budget. Communicate with business leaders and project managers and other stakeholders to ensure awareness of progress, risks and results against the roadmap. Works collaboratively with XIM partners to develop clear and concise communications with respect to incidents, problems and change management as needed. Support change management activities. Represents the business strategies and priorities in IM community Represents the IT vision to the business Defines SLAs with internal/external XIM partners to ensure they are appropriate for the business need. Strong understanding of business processes and acts as an advocate for business needs and required results. Promotes business knowledge of IT process, roles and procedures to ensure the best possible outcome. Ensures IT domains are aware of business segments within Xerox and how they interact with External customers and internal business groups. Identifies and mitigates potential problems and conflicts with IT delivery. Advises on options, risks, costs versus benefits, and impacts on end-user products and services, business processes and system priorities. Ensures IT solutions support the business's short and long term business goals/strategy and align with IT strategy. Analyzes technology trends to determine impact to the achievement of business goals. Identify business opportunities and may assess and provide recommendations based on business relevance, appropriate timing, technology, implementation, and deployment. May develop and advocates recommendations for solution options in conjunction with IT solution architects. Business Reviews - Provides support for business reviews May support and or participate in formal reporting of project status. Coaching/Mentoring - Develop, motivates, direct IT members as appropriate. Fosters a team environment.
