Job Description

Veolia Water Technologies is seeking a Sales Manager for our softening systems (ACTINA, ACTIFLO Softening) and will report to the Cary, NC office. This position will promote, expand, maintain and implement all aspects of our softening technologies with 90% of the time focused on ACTINA. This position has both sales and product management responsibilities.

Sales management activities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Accountability for overall performance of national sales activities to achieve municipal goals for booked orders and gross margin.
  • Achieve or exceed sales volume of the products through technical sales activities and support of existing representative network.
  • Plan and execute US municipal sales strategies.
  • Support for industrial sales, as necessary.
  • Qualifying and follow-up of all sales leads.
  • Developing and expanding new business opportunities for the products.
  • Visiting and coordinating the activities of the representative sales force, direct sales calls on consulting engineers and end user contacts including sales calls on all pilots
  • Work closely with and provide necessary sales tools to external sales representatives to ensure that sales goals are met for the territory.
  • Training representatives in the use and advantages of the products.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Representatives, consulting engineers and customers.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual sales forecasts as required.
  • Formulates product sales forecast and sales strategies.
  • Provide support for all project bid packages with application engineers and process engineers to ensure compliance including project risk analysis.
    Product management activities include but not limited to the following:
    • Develops product line via cost reductions, new market development, and innovations.
    • Improve product design and profitability.
    • Establish market price points and maintain competitive analyses.
    • Reviews pilot data.
    • Responsible for improving product and product profitability by supporting engineering efforts.
    • Assists in proposal generation
    • Assists in tender process
    • Responsible for final as-sold project budgets
    • Assists in project risk management for all tenders
      Responsibilities and estimated breakdown on each activities is as follows:
      • 75% of time in Sales activities.
      • 25% of time in Product Management activities.
      • Travel will be approximately 30 - 40%.
        Qualifications

        The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in application engineering and sale of equipment in the water or wastewater treatment industry with experience in water treatment. A Bachelor of Science Degree is required for this position, preferably in an engineering discipline. Candidate should possess a high degree of technical competence in water and wastewater treatment design along with exceptional communications skills (oral and written). Additionally the candidate needs an intimate understanding of the buying influences and purchasing protocol in the municipal market.
