Job Description

Position Summary

The Project Director for SlateXpace manages and coordinates the fabrication and delivery of SlateXpace modules sourced from external partners for large, complex EPC projects through all phases of design, permitting, and construction. This role will partner closely with the Director of Global SlateXpace Operations and with regional project directors leading overall projects. This role may also serve as the overall project leader for smaller projects. This individual operates with significant independence and minimal supervision as the principal project representative for module delivery and will meet regularly with senior corporate management. The Project Director for SlateXpace will function primarily as an individual contributor and must possess exceptional collaboration and influencing skills to drive successful project execution by working through external partners and internal resources that are managed by regional leadership teams. The Project Director must work cooperatively with business unit client representatives and all CRB departments, including quality, engineering, procurement, estimating, and safety and scheduling.

Responsibilities

  • Set the highest possible standards of leadership in the promotion of EHS and ensures that the project team delivers a culture committed to the safety of all project personnel
  • Ensure that CRB EHS procedures, training, and legal obligations are fully adhered to by CRB and subcontract employees
  • Ensure project is adequately staffed and allocate EHS responsibilities as needed to fulfill CRB EHS expectations
  • Ensure assigned projects are completed within budgets and schedules while meeting client needs, business objectives, and design and construction guidelines
  • Manage program of projects with external module fabrication partners and coordinate with CRB project managers within multiple regions to ensure successful completion and coordination of all efforts
  • In cooperation with Regional Leaders develop programs and annual budgets for SlateXpace projects within multiple regions
  • Prepare detailed construction cost estimates and documentation for project funding authorization
  • Responsible for interfacing with appropriate levels of management to obtain approval signatures and provide explanation of project scope and the associated costs
  • Monitor progress, provide financial control and ensure quality of project
  • Ensure that Project Managers manage the project team and develop schedules and budgets for assigned projects
  • Identify and evaluate alternative solutions to best meet program goals
  • Prepare detailed construction cost estimates and documentation for project funding request
  • Work cooperatively with and ensure that project managers are teaming successfully with appropriate Regional Leaders and Clients to clarify specific needs and requirements, while keeping client and appropriate leadership up-to-date on project status throughout process
  • Manage efforts of other corporate support functions such as legal, insurance and loss prevention, OA, and financial systems
  • Management of special studies, initiatives, or due diligence assignments
  • Interact with governmental branches and regulatory agencies as required to ensure that projects comply with all applicable legal requirements and regulations
  • Coordinate with efforts of other CRB departments such as Planning, Estimating, Pre-Construction, Operations, Design, Engineering, and Finance on projects

    Qualifications

    Qualifications
    • Degree in Construction, Engineering, or related field
    • 8 - 10 Years of experience in the Engineering & Construction Industry
    • Demonstrated success in managing engineering, procurement, and construction processes on large projects
    • Design/Build experience, a plus
    • Experience in delivery of modularized solutions, a plus
    • OSHA 30 certification
