Job Summary Overview Under the general direction of the Senior Director for Business Development (SDBD), the Director for Business Development (Director) will develop revenue associated with new partners and sponsors in a dedicated region. The Director will work with the Vice President for Business Partnerships and the SDBD to develop a regional pipeline of opportunities that drive substantial growth in mission-centric and mutually beneficial partnerships. These partnerships will link to the V Foundation's goals to drive revenue that supports life-saving cancer research. The successful candidate will be goal-oriented, driven by results, creative, mission-driven, and a collaborative team player. The Director will employ a new and comprehensive partnership platform meant to secure new partnerships and sponsorships and diversify revenue streams. This work will support overall marketing strategies by maximizing critical owned and borrowed assets and channels to create deeper connections with new supporters in meaningful ways. The Director will leverage several built-in strengths of the organization, including positive reputational awareness, a strong board of directors, and a dedicated team. The V Foundation also enjoys productive relationships with iconic brands and critical industry and research partners, including our founding partner ESPN. The Director will work closely with the V Foundation events team to determine sponsorship needs and cultivate sponsor support to execute successful fundraising events. Key Responsibilities/Activities:
Work with the Senior Director for Business Development to cultivate a robust and diverse regional pipeline of new business partnerships and sponsorships that support V Foundation events. Convert pipeline to revenue through mutually beneficial, creative, entrepreneurial, and mission-centric opportunities. Successfully transition new business to client services in ways that increase the possibilities of future re-activation and enhanced activation.

  • Set goals for new business development and sponsorship acquisition. With support and direction from SDBD, secure regional partnerships. Ensure personal performance that links to the organization's strategic and revenue growth goals.
  • Develop industry mapping, market identification and channel segmentation, pipeline research, and qualification / development of opportunities.
  • Effectively and efficiently solicits sponsorships and meets target deadlines to execute successful events and fundraising activities, specifically signature events.
  • Practices creativity and innovation resulting in new revenue opportunities
  • Monitors CRM to ensure accuracy in data/reporting, and tracks/reports progress to goals.
  • Provide regular, accurate, and updated periodic reporting of activities and pipeline status against identified goals (including contact information, funnel / pipeline data, revenue forecasts and financial tracking, and activity data). Requirements:
    Experience/Skills Required:
    • Proactive self-starter with strong business development skills.
    • Demonstrated track record of building business development pipeline and delivering revenue and event sponsorships from the pipeline.
    • A belief in the value of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace and action that demonstrates this commitment.
    • Strong sense of initiative and an outcomes-oriented mindset.
    • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
    • Bachelor's degree in business, communications, marketing or related degree, with 5-plus years relevant experience.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Experience in the following areas is strongly preferred:
      • Demonstrated track record of delivering business revenue from a variety of industries.
      • Working knowledge of CRM to utilize moves management for reporting accuracy and accountability.
      • An understanding of cause marketing's role in generating brand awareness and revenue, as well as an ability to coordinate with the efforts of cross-functional teams and partners. Equipment Used: Basic office equipment: phone, computer, copier, and digital equipment. PI176823185
