Job Description Preschool Assistant Director We are seeking a team oriented, experienced Preschool Assistant Director to assist our management team with day-to-day operations of an established Five-Star childcare center. You will be responsible for assisting the Center Director with overseeing the Center---s programs to ensure that they comply with all North Carolina and Federal rules and regulations. In addition, you will help ensure that the facility is properly maintained, support and mentor the staff, and provide excellent customer service. Successful candidates will need to demonstrate a strong record of leadership, organization, problem-solving and customer service. You will need to display a friendly demeanor, have a love for children, and strive to create a supportive atmosphere for children, teachers, and parents. Responsibilities: -- Assist the Center Director in leading teaching staff, supporting families, and achieving enrollment, accreditation, and operational objectives. Establish and maintain a secure, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children. Assist in management of day-to-day operations of the Center using the established operational policies and procedures. Cultivate positive relationships with families, teachers, state licensing authorities, community contacts and corporate partners. Partner with parents with a shared desire to provide the best care and education for their children. Serve in various roles throughout the center as needed, including teacher, cook, and or bus driver. Ensure facilities are maintained and cleaned according to state regulations. Assist in development of educational programs and setting educational standards. Assist with supporting the staff and promoting professional development. Assist with maintaining accurate student and staff files. Assist with planning, implementation and tracking all staff required training (CPR, First Aid, etc.) Meet with staff and parents regarding student development. Education and Experience: AA or Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field. NC Early Childhood Administrative Credential Level II (or able to achieve). One year of administrative experience in a licensed childcare setting. Skills: Excellent customer service skills. Friendly and approachable demeanor. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills. Display a professional attitude, appearance, and demeanor at all times. -- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and the Center---s operational software. -- Must be able to lift to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergencies.
