The Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) is responsible for the overall planning, development, and execution of our organization s successful marketing and advertising initiatives. The CMO leads the brand strategy, through the communication of our Mission to change the lives of our customers, while supporting MyCC s values of Customer 1st, Love, Ethics, and Excellence in both external and internal marketing efforts. This role has critical responsibilities that range from creative influence to business strategy and overall product success. With the utilization of marketing research, pricing models, product marketing, and marketing communications, as well as the use of public relations and advertising, the CMO ensures the company s marketing effort is focused on current vital markets for the company.As a corporate leader, the CMO is central to the company s growth and success. As such, they work closely with the CFO, COO, CEO, President, and Board of Directors to determine both short and long-term plans, projections, and overall strategy to achieve organizational goals.As the leader of the Marketing team, the CMO fosters opportunities for personal and professional development of team members, creating a passionate, high-energy creative team focused on success.The CMO is also critically involved in the development, distribution channel management, and service models for new product development and works hand-in-hand with the Corporate Development team(s), and oversees the marketing support of our sister companies.ESSENTIAL STRATEGIC JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Plan, direct, and coordinate marketing strategiesDrive revenue by increasing sales through marketing activitiesDevelop the structure of the company s marketing departmentNegotiate advertising contractsNegotiate with and support the management of third party vendorsApprove marketing campaign creativeLead innovation and adoption of new platforms and services availableCoordinate marketing efforts with the company s financial and branding goalsQuarterly review of Marketing Strategies and Successful Campaigns with Sr. LeadershipCollaborate with the Sales team for a seamless and effective customer experienceEstablish an Annual budget and associated KPIs that drive the success of the marketing team and the company s growth at large.Lead internal marketing strategy connecting employees, students, and alumni with MyCC s mission and values.Use knowledge of existing products and sales channels to collaborate with the Corporate Development team on new products and own the marketing strategy of these lines.ESSENTIAL OPERATIONAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Oversee the company s overall advertising and sales strategyUndertake market research studies and analyze the results in order to better understand the market and customer desires as relates to our servicesUse research to identify customer markets for our products or services and develop a pricing strategy, with Sr. Leadership, that will induce the purchase of the product or serviceMarket research, pricing, product marketing, marketing communications, advertising, and public relationsMaintain skills and education on current marketing strategies and best practicesDirect Marketing staff and ensure KPIs are implemented and maintained for a successful reviewProvide clean and transparent reporting to the President and Board of Directors.Partner with Compliance to ensure our efforts are not only highly effective but transparent and factual and meet the requirements of the governing regulatory bodies to which we report.Create processes and procedures for operational effectivenessIdentify opportunities to gain market shareLead Alumni Marketing Strategy to obtain higher resale ratesKEY COMPETENCIES:Highly Creative energy and deliverySuperb analytical skillsDemonstrated ability to lead and inspire a teamOutstanding communication and interpersonal skillsProven track record of successful marketing campaignsFlexibilityPassionate customer advocacyThorough knowledge of marketing principles and brand managementDeep understanding of changing market dynamicsExtensive knowledge in a variety of disciplines such as production, information technology, and legal and financial impacts on product marketingEntrepreneurial spiritThrives in a fast-paced and accountable environment.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSBachelor s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field; or a comparable combination of education and experienceAdvanced degree in marketing or business preferredPrior Marketing campaigns in Sales/Education are a plusExperience managing a multi-million dollar budget with proven effectivenessMinimum of 5 years in Strategic Leadership role managing marketing teams in successful marketing campaignsMinimum 8 years of experience creating, analyzing, and consistently improving successful lead generation campaignsSharable portfolio of prior marketing campaigns showing the ability to move a marketing campaign forward and enhance markets for the product(s)Extreme technology for big data analysisHands-on experience with CRM, SEO, and other tools like Google Analytics, Google Adwords, HubSpot, SalesForce, and other related marketing toolsAdditional marketing certifications like Digital Marketing Strategies or Fundamentals of Digital Marketing, a plusPHYSICAL AND COGNITIVE DEMANDS:The above job description is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of duties and standards of the position.
