a team of 2 to 3 individuals and is responsible for the overall
integrity and system functionality of the ABB US (United States)/PR
(Puerto Rico) compensation programs. This individual will
collaborate with various teams to proactively monitor internal
controls while ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely
compensation delivery.
This role will need to work locally in our Cary, NC office.This
position reports toDirector HR Shared Service Operations USYour
responsibilities
- Leads compensation delivery efforts as it relates to annual
processes such as merit and short-term incentive programs
- Supports compliance team on matters related to job structure
administration, FLSA and EEOC
- Partner with HR (Human Resource) Business Partners and leaders
to provide appropriate guidance and interpretation of policies and
guidelines
- Create materials to effectively communicate compensation
programs, policies and practices to employees, managers and
leaders
- Promote the strategic and customer-centric value of
compensation within the organization
- Drives implementation of key strategies and projects as
identified or assigned
- Drives execution of annual merit and short term incentive
processes
- Accountable for Employee Stock Acquisition Plan (ESAP) and
Rewards & Recognitions programs, specifically vendor
management
- Leads compensation systems initiatives, enhancements and
projects
- Delegates various tasks supporting organization wide
initiatives, employee level merger and acquisition transitions, ad
hoc reporting support
- Manages escalations and delivers timely resolutions to complex
compensation issues
- Acts as internal consultants for compensation process
enhancements
- Manages compensation related systems access and approvals
- Owns and approves Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned
- Develops and monitors internal KPIs (Key Performance
Indicators) for ServiceNow cases and manages corrective actions
accordingly
- Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure data and system
readiness to deliver annual merit and short term incentive
processes
- Ensures team members provide excellent customer service to
employees by offering individuals information on compensation
delivery programs and by responding accurately and timely
- Builds strong working relationships with various cross
functional groups throughout Human Resources/other stakeholders to
understand customer needs and deliver exceptional customer
service
- Provides feedback/train/customer facing teams to equip them
with knowledge to respond to customer requests
- Creates awareness/train/guide employees (as applicable) on self
service capability/usage at every opportunity
- Reviews customer feedback, analyze it and guide team members on
it regularly
- Manages a team of individuals that supports the ABB US/PR model
for compensation delivery
- Recruits, develops and retains talented team members
- Assists with resource allocation and resolution of resource
conflicts
- Coaches and guides team members on complex queries to help
develop their process knowledge
- Identifies training needs in alignment with development of team
members
- Holds periodic one on ones with team members to focus on
performance and development
- Identifies team members responsibilities and ensure backup
availability through cross training and skill development
- Conducts annual performance/salary review of team members
- Evaluates all compensation shared service delivery processes
for effectiveness, identify and recommend improvements, and oversee
execution
- Designs, recommends and implements processes to improve the
controls, efficiency and quality of compensation delivery
- Drives a mindset of continuous improvement by encouraging team
members to constantly challenge the status quo (especially
processes that are manual/repetitive)
- Defines metrics to measure and monitors process effectiveness
and compliance
- Supports financial and cost management to ensure alignment with
the approved budgetYour background
- Bachelor's degree qualification or equivalent education and/or
experience combined and 8 years of relevant work experience and
minimum 3 years in a leadership role
- Experience with job architecture, equity analysis and incentive
plan administration
- Experience in wage band classification and grading of positions
(classification administration) would be a plus but not
required
- Prior experience in a large, complex, matrixed
organization
- Prior experience with compensation job architecture, FLSA,
EEOC
- Strong understanding of state and federal laws and regulations
as they apply to compensation administration
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills and a thorough
knowledge of compensation administration
- Ability to maintain data integrity through attention to detail
and accuracy, prioritize and meet aggressive deadlines and process,
manipulate and summarize reports
- Excellent analytical, data analysis and mathematics skills
- Demonstrated leadership and people management skills
- Ability to think critically and solve complex problems
- Ability to drive results amidst challenging business
environments
- Prior experience in project management, leading large
initiatives, meeting deliverable timely
- Expert proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel
- Advanced proficiency with MS Office applications, including
Power Point
- Familiar with current concepts, laws and practices in
compensation administration
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team
environment
- Must be results oriented with the ability to handle multiple
projects, shifting priorities and meet tight deadlines
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to
detail
- Must have prior experience with a Human Resources Information
System (HRIS)
- Must maintain confidential information discreetly and protect
employee privacy
- Highly ethical, flexible, inquisitive & logical
- Workday and/or SAP experience
