For more information, visit www.wakemed.org.EOEPosition Information:The Respiratory Care Assistant (RCA) is enrolled in a recognized Respiratory Care Program that have been approved by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care. Respiratory Care Assistant will work under the direct supervision of a licensed respiratory care practitioner (RCP). The RCA will be competent and perform the following respiratory care procedures: oxygen supply systems, equipment processing, manual resuscitation, oxygen administration, humidity and aerosol therapy, small volume nebulizer therapy, MDI administration, incentive spirometry, non-invasive mechanical airway clearance therapy, chest physiotherapy with suctioning, arterial puncture, electrocardiogram (if performed by hiring institute), and patient reporting.Experience Requirements:Training Clinical - Respiratory Therapy RequiredEducation Required:High School Diploma or Equivalent Required - And College Courses Respiratory Therapy RequiredLicensure/Certification Requirements:Respiratory Care Assistant Required - And Basic Life Support Required - And Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Required - And Pediatric Advanced Life Support RequiredHours of Work:days/nightsWeekend Requirements:As NeededCall Requirements:as needed
