About the facility A hospital is seeking an anesthesiologist for
locum tenens coverage. About the facility location In Hugh Chatham,
NC, you can enjoy the scenic beauty of the area with a visit to the
Yadkin Valley Wine Region, where you can tour local vineyards and
taste a variety of wines. For outdoor enthusiasts, the nearby Pilot
Mountain State Park offers excellent hiking trails, rock climbing,
and stunning views of the surrounding landscape. About the
clinician's workday The practice operates with five rooms from
Monday to Friday, 7 am to 3:30 pm, using a three-physician model
with one MD working each day on a rotating schedule. The call
schedule involves 48 hours on, then 2 days off, followed by 72
hours on call for the weekend, then 48 hours off, and another 48
hours on, followed by 10 days off. Regular workdays are from 6:30
am to 6:30 pm (12 hours), and when on call, one night out of three
may require staying until 9-10 pm, and there may be a 3 am
C-section once every three weeks. The case mix includes general
surgery, orthopedics, and proficiency in blocks, with MDs
performing epidurals and being backed up by CRNAs, and handling
