Learn more about us: -$10,000 Commitment Bonus -- Paid out in 4 equal installments over 24 months in 6-month increments. ----**Only new hires who have not worked for Duke University Health System in the past 12 months (at the time of offer) are eligible to receive the commitment bonus.** -$3,000 Relocation Assistance -- -Cash allowance payments will be made via direct deposit on behalf of DUHS by UrbanBound.**Distance from former residence to new DUHS work location is at least 50 miles** -JOB LOCATIONDuke Health Center Arringdon - 5601 Arringdon Park Dr, Morrisville, NC -JOB SUMMARYWe are seeking a -Cardiac Sonographer -to provide patient and provider support by using ultrasound imaging technologies to aid in diagnosing and treating cardiac conditions. - -JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Demonstrates with > 70 accuracy (for Cardiac Sonographer Level I) performance of routine and emergency echocardiograms, including but not limited to 2-dimensional, 3- dimensional, Doppler, Color Doppler, Strain and Stress Echocardiogram, as requested by physicians following the PDC Echocardiography lab protocol, while maintaining the expected labor standard of 1 procedure per hour, including accurate preliminary reporting. -
  • Operate GES70, GEE95, Philips and other ultrasound equipment necessary to perform all required procedures. Appropriately use C3, ISCV, Muse, and GE Case systems. Maintain equipment in working order, making minor adjustments and notify appropriate resources for repairs.
  • Prepares preliminary reports for review and interpretation by Cardiologist with > 70 accuracy (for Cardiac Sonographer Level I). This should include comparison and comment if previous studies.
  • Perform pre arrival assessment of patient's medical record to obtain history of symptoms and necessary information for performance of diagnostic procedures.
  • Participate in all required aspects of quality improvement activities as needed for Joint Commission, and IAC-Echo Accreditations. This would include evaluation of procedure results for technical quality and accuracy; maintain appropriate logs, files, and records.
  • Review department performance in relation to established goals, implementing changes to effect outcomes.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patients, employees and corporation-related activities. Instruct students, fellows, nurses, or health personnel as requested.
  • Communicates technical and patient care related information according to established processes and timelines.
  • Attends Lab Meetings, participates in Echo related conferences through attendance, ensuring required continuing education and professional growth.
  • Cultivates a collaborative and cooperative work environment within department following the DUHS Values. -JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS -Education
    • Graduate or completion of program that meets eligibility requirements for registry/certification or currently holds required registry or certification. -Experience
      • None required beyond above education/certification requirements.
      • Level I - Must obtain ARDMS certifications as required by each entity within 18 months of employment.
      • Level II - Minimum of two years' experience as a Sonographer.
      • Level III A minimum of 4 years' experience within specialty modality in which they are seeking promotion. -Degrees, Licensure, and/or Certification
        • ARDMS/CCI certification in Echocardiography
        • ARDMS/CCI certification within 18 months of hire
