Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 02/23/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position with a strong orthopedic background and Epic EMR experience. Responsibilities - Work in a Med/Surg Tele unit in a hospital setting - Primary patient populations include orthopedic, neuro spine, med-surg, and post-surgical cases - Nurse to patient ratios are typically 5-6:1, with rare flex up to 7:1 - 12-hour day shifts (6:45 to 19:15), with options for 36 or 48 hours per week - Every other weekend required, and any weekend call-offs must be made up on a weekend - Block scheduling options available (Fri/Sat/Sun or Sat/Sun/Mon) - Floating to other med/surg units within the facility may be required based on census - Epic EMR used; prior Epic experience is required - Provide nursing care in a fast-paced med/surg environment with a focus on ortho and spine patients - Effective pain management is essential for this patient population - No RTO after booking is allowed; additional time off or call-offs may result in assignment cancellation - Holiday RTO cannot be approved and holiday coverage is required - COVID-positive patients may be present within the unit - Preferred qualifications include ACLS certification, charge nurse experience, and Level I trauma experience - Locals are accepted for this position Requirements - Active NC or compact RN license - Minimum of 2 years recent RN experience with orthopedic patients - Prior experience starting IVs and with telemetry monitoring - Current BCLS and NIHSS certifications required - Must pass EKG testing prior to start - First-time travelers accepted if Epic experience is demonstrated Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-667374.
