Respiratory Therapist - ICU – UHC Staffing Respiratory Therapist - ICU Location: Fayetteville, NC Start Date: 02-23-2026 End Date: 05-25-2026 Contract Type: Travel Contract Shift Type: 3x12-hour night shifts, 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM, rotating schedule with every-other-weekend requirement and holiday coverage (Night) Hours per Week: 36 Candidate Pay Rate: $53 per hour About United Health Care Staffing At United Health Care Staffing (UHC Staffing), we believe healthcare staffing should be more than just finding a job. Roles & Responsibilities Provide expert respiratory care to critically ill adult and pediatric patients in the ICU, using evidence-based practice Manage ventilators, perform airway management, and deliver advanced respiratory therapies safely and efficiently Document patient care accurately and promptly in Epic to support continuity and quality of care Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans Float between like units as needed to meet patient and facility needs while maintaining high standards of care Participate in unit-level policies and adhere to facility guidelines for infection control and safety Qualifications Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required Valid state respiratory therapy license for North Carolina required; pending licenses are not accepted Minimum of 2 years of respiratory therapy experience, with comfort caring for both pediatric and adult ICU patients Proficiency with Epic charting is required Comfort working nights, weekends, and observed holidays; ability to float between like units Strong clinical judgment, effective communication skills, and a team-oriented mindset Education Associate degree or diploma in Respiratory Therapy or related field preferred RRT credential required Knowledge & Skills Advanced ventilator management and arterial blood gas interpretation Critical care and pediatric respiratory protocols and procedures Epic electronic charting and accurate documentation practices Ability to respond to rapid changes in patient condition and prioritize interventions Flexibility to float and cover weekend and holiday shifts as required Interdisciplinary teamwork and clear communication under pressure Benefits Generous housing stipend and travel support to make your contract comfortable Medical, Dental & Vision coverage to keep you healthy 401K retirement savings plan to help you plan ahead Life insurance and disability protection for peace of mind Paid Time Off so you can recharge between assignments Licensure assistance and reimbursement to streamline your paperwork Referral bonus program to reward you for bringing great teammates A supportive, collaborative team that values your expertise and growth Travel Perks: Explore Fayetteville, NC Explore Fayetteville and the Cape Fear region during your time off.
