working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PCU RN in Winston
Salem, North Carolina, 27103! Job Title: Registered Nurse
Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience:
Minimum 2 years of experience required. First-time travelers
accepted. License: Current nursing license required.
Certifications: ACLS, BLS required. NIHSS preferred. Must-Have: IV
start, ventilator management, telemetry monitoring, interpretation,
and management of dysrhythmias. Description: RTO after booking is
not allowed to be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or additional
RTO on unit may possibly lead to a cancellation. The unit has a
mixed acuity with a patient ratio of 1:4-5 and can rise to 1:6 in
extreme situations. The patient population includes patients with
COPD, pneumonia, respiratory distress, and COVID-19. The unit
operates with a team lead present, two respiratory therapists, and
an assistant nurse manager on shift, including weekends. Staffing
support includes an admission/discharge nurse, vascular access
team, and rapid response team. Patients may require high acuity
care, including ventilator and trach support. The unit has 48 beds
and provides care for patients with respiratory needs, chest tubes,
and telemetry monitoring. All nurses are expected to float to like
units as needed based on staffing requirements. Weekend coverage
includes a requirement of four weekend shifts within six weeks, but
additional shifts may be required. Scrubs are not provided; nurses
should wear white or navy blue scrubs. A teamwork approach is
essential, and adherence to call-off policies is strictly enforced.
