Job Description TinkBird Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Med-Peds Physician to provide locum or locum-to-permanent coverage with a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Rich Square, North Carolina. This opportunity offers an outpatient-only practice serving an underserved patient population within a mission-driven healthcare organization. Providers will have the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment with strong clinical support while delivering comprehensive primary care across the lifespan. Quick Overview Location: Rich Square, North Carolina Setting: Outpatient Primary Care (FQHC) Schedule: Monday – Friday (open to 3–4 consecutive days) Patient Volume: 16–18 patients per day Call: Very light after-hours telephonic call Start Date: As soon as possible EMR: eClinicalWorks Position Details Job Type: Locum Tenens or Locum-to-Permanent Role: Physician Specialty: Family Medicine / Internal Medicine / Med-Peds Clinical Practice Outpatient-only primary care practice Provide comprehensive care across the entire lifespan Preventive care and chronic disease management Patient Population Underserved rural community Federally Qualified Health Center setting Practice Environment Mission-driven community health organization serving patients across multiple locations in northeastern North Carolina. Organization Overview Multiple medical clinic locations Dental services and in-house pharmacy support available Support Staff Full clinical and administrative support staff available Team-based care environment On-site Specialists: None Call Responsibilities Very light after-hours telephonic call Calls are first triaged by experienced RN staff Provider contacted only for urgent situations or documentation clarification Weekend or Holiday Call: None Clinics are closed on major holidays. Schedule & Coverage Expected Schedule Monday through Friday coverage Five days per week preferred Open to 3–4 consecutive day schedules Lunch Break: 1 hour Length of Assignment (Locums) Three-month intervals May be extended depending on recruitment needs Telehealth: Not involved Clinic Hours General Office Hours: Monday: 8:00 am – 6:00 pm Tuesday: 7:45 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Wednesday: 8:00 am – 6:00 pm Thursday: 8:00 am – 6:00 pm Friday: 8:00 am – 12:00 pm Candidate Requirements MD or DO Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Med-Peds Minimum 2 years of experience preferred Willingness to see 16–18 patients per day Meet quality metrics for prevention and chronic disease management Credentialing Fast credentialing turnaround Credentialing with major payors supported Prior Medicare/Medicaid enrollment not required but preferred Dress Code & Interview Process Dress Code: Business casual or scrubs About TinkBird Healthcare Staffing TinkBird Healthcare Staffing is a locum tenens and permanent placement healthcare recruiting firm that is bridging the gap between healthcare companies and high-quality candidates.
