Position SummaryThe Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) will partner with the headquarters executive team and sorority leadership to hire develop a high performing, engaged headquarters staff through the implementation and maintaining of documented people processes, policies, and procedures in compliance with state and federal law. The HRBP will lead efforts to continuously improve office culture with an aim to make Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc. an employer of choice in the local area. Essential Job Functions

  • Onboarding: Responsible for partnering with executive team to onboard each new hire in an effort to accelerate learning of their role in headquarters operations and the history, mission, and vision of the sorority.
  • Employee Relations: Foster positive employee relations by creating team building opportunities and channels to voice concerns. Investigate employee claims such as claims of discrimination or other violations of policy or law. Conduct annual employee survey action plan to monitor and improve employee engagement. Conduct interviews with exiting employees, identifying trends from information gathered.
  • Coaching: Coach executive team on positive employee relations, creating performance improvement plans, giving timely feedback, having crucial conversations and other areas as needed.
  • Process and procedure management: Develop and document people related processes and procedures with a routine review system established, identifying when elements should be adjusted, added or removed.
  • Compliance: Partner with the international legal advisor or external counsel to develop policies with a routine review system established to ensure compliance with state and federal law. Ensure proper maintenance of confidential employee files in compliance with state and federal law. Conduct random audits to ensure HR compliance.
  • Talent Acquisition: Responsible for end-to-end talent acquisition cycle including but not limited to job description review, posting positions, sourcing candidates, phone screens, scheduling and conducting interviews, and recommendations for hire to the IGB.
  • Performance Management: Lead annual performance review process to ensure performance objectives are established and documented. Provide guidance to staff throughout the process ensuring fairness and consistency throughout the process.
  • Compensation & Benefits: Conduct annual salary review to ensure pay is competitive and increases reflect performance and area cost of living. Make salary offer recommendations for approval by IGB. Evaluate existing benefits offer for competitiveness. Research and recommend structure / options for all employees. Manage annual benefit enrollment process.
  • Training & Development: Partner with executive team to identify development gaps and develop training plans or other developmental activity to close gaps. Deliver annual training plan.
  • Project & Change Management: Lead all HR related projects partnering with the Associate Engagement Committee for perspective and support with implementation and execution. Lead change management programs in collaboration with the sorority with a strong emphasis on sustainability and continuous improvement.Required QualificationsEducation/Experience: Minimum of a 4-year degree; preferably in business or HR. Must have at least 5-7 years of experience in client facing HR generalist role including 2+ years of employee relations.Required skills:

  • Familiar with wage and hour laws.Physical requirements: Required frequently: sitting, repetitive hand and wristmovements, bending, reaching and the ability to lift at least 15-25 lbs. Long periods of computer work are also required.Position/Work Schedule Requirements:M-F 8:00 5:00 PM and special events/conferences as needed.
