What you'll be doing...
This opportunity is for Military personnel who are current
participants of the Department of Defense SkillBridge Program or
are participants of the Hiring Our Heroes Corporate Fellowship
Program in either Cohort 2-2022 or the Off-Cycle Cohort.
As a Solutions Architect 1, you will be an integral part of a
talented team collaborating with our Solutions Architects to assist
during their clients' Digital Transformation journey. Throughout
this program, you will develop a strong foundation in Verizon's
technologies, solutions, systems and more with the assistance of a
mentor through our Early in Career Program. With our guidance, this
program will provide you the tools to develop yourself into the
next-generation Solutions Architect in no time!
This entry level role will give you a chance to channel your drive
and enthusiasm and learn the practical application technology
concepts. You will be front and center, hands-on and contributing
your creative energy to high-impact projects from the moment you
arrive. You will put your technology skills to use and gain
experience in the field through job training.
In this role, you may have the opportunity to:
- Participate in customer specialized projects by working with
the solution architects and account teams to understand project
needs, complete research and design tasks, and develop the required
- Build relationships with the solution architects and account
teams, and collaborate with cross functional teams to understand
Verizon's ecosystem and build a strong network.
- Drive business transformation initiatives where you can take a
creative approach to continuously improve processes and
- Acquire and grow knowledge in Verizon's vast technology
offerings, such as, 5G, Intelligent Networking, Security, and
Advanced Business Communications by completing trainings, attending
corporate partner and vendor presentations, and obtaining industry

You'll need to have:
- Must be a current participants of the Department of Defense
SkillBridge Program or are a participant of the Hiring Our Heroes
Corporate Fellowship Program in either Cohort 2-2022 or the
- An Associate's degree or 2 or more years of work
- Work experience in a technology related field.
- Willingness to work in Cary, NC.
Even better if you have:
- A Bachelor's degree or higher in a technology related
- A CompTIA Network+ certification or higher
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated strong analytic, communication, leadership and
- Willingness to travel.
- Advanced MS Suite or Google Suite knowledge.
- Knowledge of one or more of the following disciplines or
skills: Networking Technologies (SDN, NFV, Intelligent edge), WAN
technologies (Cellular, MPLS, Internet, Ethernet), IT Security,
Cloud, or programming/scripting languages such as Python, Java,
- Knowledge of 3GPP wireless technologies (i.e. 5G and 4G LTE)
and common mobile devices (i.e. Cradlepoint, Meraki, etc.), as well
as experience supporting mobile operating systems or application
development for Apple iOS, Google Android, etc.
