Job Summary:IEM is looking for a quality focused Project and Release Manager to work closely with our customers, programmers, engineers, and QA teams to manage the schedule and release process for a low code platform that addresses emerging business needs by supporting recovering communities. The Project Manager is responsible for the timely completion of scheduled tasks and releases using Agile, but also finding ways to improve the schedule management processes to make them as efficient and lightweight as possible.Essential Functions:

  • Combine customer empathy and passion for moving fast to deliver high quality deliverables and code releases that benefit our clients
  • Use Agile methodologies to plan, coordinate, and lead deployments of minor patches, hotfixes, and backend/server updates within a low code cloud based AWS environment
  • Plan sprint schedules with input from engineering and PM teams and communicate to all relevant stakeholders
  • Work with development and QA ensuring releases have passed all required checks and approvals leading up to live deployments and effectively communicate approved exceptions to all necessary parties
  • Compile tasks into a plan, focused on minimizing system interruption and downtime
  • Use Jira data to develop and maintain internal and client reports to communicate project status and schedules
  • Coordinate the change process so that only approved changes are incorporated into the live system
  • Ensure creation of formal release records to track release content and history
  • Monitor health metrics to both escalate and assist in resolution of live incidents
  • Work with QA Leads to establish and maintain a bug triage process, determine and prioritize must fix issues for release and work with appropriate team members to ensure bug fixes happen as planned
  • Evaluate internal release and schedule management processes and identify areas for efficiency improvements and automation
  • Own and drive the use of efficient, repeatable, predictable development and reporting standards for multiple customers
  • Identify release risks and coordinate mitigation of the issues Minimum Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
    • 5+ years of experience in a project or release management role
    • Strong project management and communication skills with passion to understand customers
    • Experience with build and release processes following Agile in an AWS environment
    • Strong technical knowledge and understanding of the software development lifecycle; ability to adjust and apply this knowledge in a dynamic environment using Agile methodologies
    • Detailed knowledge of software release and schedule management, specifically on how efficient process improvements can be accomplished without adding additional overhead to work done by the development teams
    • A support first mindset, aimed at making the work of others more efficient, and building features and processes that enable their success
    • Ability to apply good judgement to risk assessment, flexibility to react quickly and facilitate agreement as a result of shifting priorities or timelines
    • Motivated, determined, and invested in improving processes while preserving customer trustPreferred Qualifications:
      • Experience with Low-Code Development Platforms such as Appian
      • Experience working in a CMMI Level 3 - appraised software development environment
      • Familiar with the Atlassian suite of tools: JIRA, BitBucket, Confluence, etc.
