Position: Director, Software Development Engineering

Job Location : United States : North Carolina : Cary

Role Value Proposition:

Ingest, store, process and analyze huge data sets from various platforms for analytics needs. Build and implement extract, transform, load (ETL) processes developed using Big data tools, including Spark, Scala, Python or Hive Nifi. Monitor performance and advise of necessary infrastructure changes. Perform code reviews to ensure that the code is production ready, following best practices and standards. Lead and motivate project team and provide work direction to junior staff members.

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Bachelor's degree in computer science or electronic engineering (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus ten years of experience performing solutions development . Specific skills/other requirements - Must also possess the following (quantitative experience requirements not applicable to this section): performance tuning with Spark, Scala and Python to build and implement ETL processes; performing Hive database management, including partitioning and bucketing; performing data anomaly detection and data quality assurance using SQL, HDFS, Hive, Databricks/Delta Lake, Flume and Kafka; building stream-processing systems, using Storm or Spark-Streaming; managing and mentoring a team; performing code reviews to ensure use of best practice and standards; designing multi-tenant, containerized Hadoop architecture for memory/CPU management/sharing across different lines of business (LOBs); and processing large unstructured datasets using HDFS, SQOOP Hive, Pig, Flume and Kafka.
