Come be a part of our mission.Northrop Grumman Space Systems Sector is looking for you to join our team as a Sr. Principal Software Engineer based out of Morrisville NC, Fairfax VA, or Linthicum MD.We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer that likes troubleshooting. This individual possesses the skills to investigate and troubleshoot common problems like node failures, cluster failures, and Kubernetes pod failures. You should be familiar with AWS - EC2, S3, Route53, DynamoDB, EFS, Elastic Load Balancing, Regional replication, Failover and redundancy. If you have experience with Kubernetes. Storage, auto scaling, maintenance, Failover, and redundancy you might be the engineer we need. This individual may also do some general systems administration and patching. They should be familiar with the monitoring, logging, reporting, and alerting of a system. Understanding of how helm charts are deployed, maintained and updated would also be a benefit.Our small agile Scrum team is highly energized and has a significant software effort on a growing program with a large program impact. Plenty of opportunity for career advancement into leadership positions.Basic Qualifications:Sr. Principal Software Engineer: Bachelor's degree with 9 + years of software development experience; 7 years with a Master's; 4 years with a PhD; or 14 years of software development experience in lieu of a degreeCandidate must have a current/active Top Secret/SCI security clearance to be consideredCandidate must be able to obtain a Counterintelligence Polygraph (CI-Poly)KubernetesExperience with AWS/C2SExperience with Dynamo DBPreferred Qualifications:Experience with Agile software development using Python and/or C++ software development in a Red Hat Enterprise Linux environmentKnowledge of Helm charts and how helm charts are deployedExperienced as a systems admin (patching, updating)Experience supporting operational systemsExperience supporting distributed systemsExperience working in Virtualized Environments (VMs, AWS Cloud Instances)Experience with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket)Experience working with AWS ServicesExperience with Dockerization and Container Management (Dockers and Kubernetes)Previous exposure to working with ground systems (scheduling, tasking, antennas, working with hardware interfaces)Current Counterintelligence Polygraph (CI-Poly) completed within the last 5 yearsThis position reports to Morrisville, NC, USA, however, you are able to work from any of the additional 2 locations listed above.Salary Range: $117,900 USD - $194,500 USDEmployees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
