Do it here.What you'll be doing...As the Senior Manager for the
Public Sector Federal Aviation Administration Enterprise Network
Engineering Services (FENS) Solution Architecture team, you will
lead a multi-discipline Architecture Engineering team that is
responsible for delivering and managing designs for a mission
critical, life/safety infrastructure based on Verizon's solutions
and services. You are well versed across multiple technology
disciplines to include but not limited to Enterprise Solutions,
MPLS, Cyber Security, Managed Services, Cisco DMPVN, Wireless (4G
and 5G), application performance, IT, Cloud, Enterprise Solutions,
and more. You will work in a cross-functional and
cross-organizational environment (including Third party partners)
to facilitate and deliver the FENS initial and on-going
infrastructure solutions for the FAA complex requirements
throughout the life-cycle of the FENS program.You will be focused
on the technical aspects of delivering integrated architectures for
the FAA FENS opportunity. The goal will be to deliver the best
technical solutions along with the best customer service. You will
need to:
- Understanding customer mission and business challenges.
- Developing the solution and designing the architecture to solve
the customer need.
- Drafting agreements with pricing, service commitments, and
technical specifications.
- Provide briefings at various levels.
- Identify, own, and drive resolutions to gaps in the deal
lifecycle delivery processes.
- Assess, prioritize, and manage scope of work across various
initiatives.
- Lead and guide your team with creating complex, integrated
solutions to meet our customer requirements
- Support the Business Development teams drive revenue for
incremental growthWhat we are looking for:You are an effective and
inspiring leader, able to engage and motivate an engineering
architecture team and cross functional teams to deliver outstanding
performance. You have the business insight and executive presence
to establish credibility with executive leaders (e.g., internally,
customer, and partners), and guide the growth of a team to deliver
on expectations, milestones, and deliverables. As a business and
technical leader, you are able to explain how Verizon solutions can
help solve everyday business problems in an effective manner. You
enjoy working in a dynamic environment and can balance contending
demands and priorities.You'll need to have:
- Experience in managing highly technical teams including
network, security, CPE (e.g., servers, routers, firewalls, TDM CTP
or TDM to IP Gateways) for mission critical systems.
- Experience in designing and implementing highly available data
center infrastructure.
- Experience in designing and implementing multi-VRF
architectures.
- Ability to mentor and grow engineers' knowledge and
capabilities in support of career path.
- Experience in leading cross functional teams with understanding
of how business and technical requirements interweave to create
solutions.
- Designing or architecting survivable and resilient mission
critical infrastructure.
- Experience in transitioning from TDM to IP infrastructure.
- Experience in building technology roadmaps and transitioning in
new technologies
- Bachelor's degree or six or more years of work experience.
- Six or more years of relevant work experience in designing and
supporting mission critical government systems.
- Knowledge of technical product and systems development
lifecycle within a large global enterprise environment.
- Need experience in delivering an integrated OSS with technical
solutions and contract performance.
- Experience with FAA safety requirements.
- Designing or architecting survivable and resilient mission
critical infrastructure.
- Experience in transitioning from TDM to IP infrastructure.
- Experience in building technology roadmaps and transitioning in
new technologies.
- Ability to manage and balance business and technical
requirements.
- Experience in communicating (written and spoken) highly
technical, multi-faceted (e.g., network, security, data,
application) solutions to customers in a simple, understandable
manner.
- Experience managing large-scale technical programs with end to
end accountability.
- Highly organized with an ability to manage competing
priorities.
- Demonstrated interpersonal communication, organization and
project management skills.
- Current Security, architecture, and industry certifications
such as (Cisco CCIE, CCNA or CCNP, CCSK, TOGAFv9.).
- Ability to gain a public trust clearance.
- Experience in two or more technical areas listed:
- Data and IP Services (MPLS, SIP, internet, VPN, SDN, NFV,
SDWAN).
- Cisco DMVPN.
- Access Technologies (TDM, Ethernet).
- Network Operations (Managed Services for WLAN, LAN, WAN, IP
PBX, Automation/Orchestration).
- Security (DDOS, FW, IDS, WAF, DDI, SIEM, Analytics,
Micro-segmentation).
- Cloud and Data Center Outsourcing (application management,
compute and storage, virtualization, IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS).
- Wireless technologies (IoT).
- IT Applications Management (SOA, Web Services).
- Voice Services (Circuit Switched Voice, IP Voice, SIP
Trunking).Even Better if you have:
- Master's Degree in a technical or business area.
- Over 6 years of managing high performing engineering
teams.
- Five or more years of successful experience with strategic
solutions and/or systems integration design and solutions selling
experience (consultative solutions selling)
- Communication, organization, and negotiation skills with the
ability to successfully work multiple projects simultaneously
- Public Sector Domain Experience to include both Federal and
Department of Defense contract and procurement experience
- Functional knowledge in leading technology network and security
vendor portfolios such as Cisco, Avaya, Viptela, Versa, Fortinet,
Palo Alto, Riverbed, Juniper, and more.
- Experience in the Aviation industry
- Ability to obtain a government security clearance for Secret or
