Job Description:
The Manager, Training & Documentation for Manufacturing Support
is responsible for leading the training and documentation team,
focusing on the development, implementation, and oversight of
comprehensive digital learning programs. This role enhances
employee skills, drives organizational performance, and supports
the companys digital transformation initiatives in drug substance
manufacturing. The Manager, Training & Documentation designs
strategic digital training solutions, develops accurate and
user-friendly documentation, assesses training effectiveness, and
fosters a culture of continuous learning and innovation. What
You’ll Do • Manages, leads, and develops direct reports from
support manufacturing team while overseeing, organizing, and
coordinating the workload of manufacturing training and
documentation team • Designs and implements digital training
programs that are interactive and effective, aligning with
organizational objectives and employee development needs • Leads
the creation and lifecycle management of manufacturing standard
operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions (WIs), and On the
Job Trainings (OJTs) • Creates and manages comprehensive training
programs to support new hires from onboarding through their entire
certification process, ensuring alignment organizational standards
• Leads brainstorming sessions and collaborates with stakeholders
to define training objectives while assessing industry trends to
enhance training offerings • Oversees and maintains accurate,
user-friendly training documentation and resources to complement
digital programs • Works with external training providers and
internal stakeholders to develop and deliver specialized training •
Selects and utilizes digital tools to enhance training experiences,
ensures seamless integration, and explores new technologies for
adoption • Collaborates with other departments (e.g.,
Manufacturing, Process Science, Engineering) and to transfer in new
programs into the facility, including maintaining alignment with
other large-scale training and documentation teams • Implements
metrics to assess training effectiveness and uses feedback to
continuously improve programs • Acts as functional manufacturing
training and documentation lead for regulatory inspections and
audits • Administers company policies such as time off, shift work,
and inclement weather that directly impact employees • Completes
required administrative tasks (e.g., timecard approvals, time off
approvals, expense reports etc.) • Coaches and guides direct
reports to foster professional development • Participates in the
recruitment process and retention strategies to attract and retain
talent, as needed • Addresses performance gaps, employee questions
and concerns, and partners with HR as needed for resolution • Other
duties, as assigned Basic Requirements • Master’s degree in science
based or engineering field with 6 years of experience OR •
Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of experience of experience in a
pharmaceutical or manufacturing environment; OR • Associate’s
degree with 10 years of experience; OR • High school diploma with
12 years of experience; OR • Equivalent military experience • Prior
experience in managing people and proven ability to lead the teams
Preferred Requirements • 2-5 years of people management experience
• Previous experience leading others in a pharmaceutical/biological
manufacturing facility • Bachelors or master’s degree with emphasis
in life science or engineering with 6-10 years’ experience in
pharmaceutical/biological manufacturing operations • Experience in
digital training design, implementation, and documentation
management • Experience working in a changing, project-driven
organization WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS • Ability
to discern audible cues • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of
time • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time • Ability to
conduct activities using repetitive motions that include wrists,
hands and/or fingers • Ability to conduct work that includes moving
objects up to 10 pounds
