We're looking for a lead Quality Assurance Engineer to join us at
IBM. The QA Lead will work closely with Architects, Developers and
Site Reliability Engineers to understand user experience, work
flow, expected outcomes and the definition of done, to develop and
execute a testing approach that addresses all aspects of the
software solution. The QA Lead will be responsible for driving
automated testing to ensure the functionality, performance,
reliability, stability and integration of Networking Engineering
applications and tools. Additionally, the QA Lead will be
responsible for driving quality assurance principles with the
Development and SRE squads to ensure that all code is properly
tested and all deployments are properly validated. As part of an
Agile team, the QA Lead will play an integral role to ensure the
quality of every sprint's release to production. Our team strives

Your Role and Responsibilities
Our project is a highly visible connectivity layer between IBM and
the Cloud, used by many groups and service providers in IBM to
connect their internal and cloud-based assets and users. We are not
just building a highly automated build process with regression
testing, monitoring and deployment promotion, but also a service
that customers can also use within their own DevOps pipeline to
deploy their cloud solutions.
This is an important technical role that will require participation
in an evolving culture, designed to deliver software solutions from
different teams into a continually available environment.
Ultimately, your work will decide if code drops are ready to deploy
to production and help ensure that, if a deployment fails, that it
"fails small and recovers quickly".
Driving QA efforts across teams with the focus on improving quality
of the shipped code, its pipelines and procedures.
Providing requirements and implementing procedures to develop QA
mindset across teams.
Reviewing requirements, specifications and technical design
documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
Creating detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test cases
Designing and implementing tests
Isolate, replicate, and report defects, define corrective action,
and verify defect fixes
Performing thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved
Documenting test results and supporting evidence
Throughout the day, you will collaborate with your teammates and
interact with our product owners
Participate and/or lead in our lunch and learn sessions.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
8+ years as a Sr QA Analyst or Lead, preferably as part of a
customer-facing web app development team
Experienced QA Analyst as part of an Agile team in a continuous
Demonstrated ability to write test cases and document results
Experience with all aspects of QA testing: unit, functional,
integration, end to end, user interface, smoke, performance and
Experience working with project planning and tracking tools such as
Jira, Github, etc.
Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills to build/maintain
Model effective analyst behaviors in dealing with individuals and
At least 3 years' experience in software development experience in
at least one modern language such as Python or Java.
10 years' experience with the Linux/UNIX operating systems.
Experience with SCM systems like Git.
Working knowledge and/or experience with Agile methodologies.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
At least 2 years' experience with Automation, DevOps, Continuous
Delivery and Continuous Deployment technologies. (e.g. Ansible,
Docker, Jenkins, Kubernetes)
Strong background in network management and diagnostics.
Basic security knowledge.
2 years' experience with Docker; building and deploying
