Your Role and Responsibilities

This role is based out of the IBM office in Raleigh, North C, however we will consider candidates that can work remotely from any locati0n. There will be occasions where there will be team meeting that require being in office in either the New York or Raleigh location.



There are no relocation funds for this role so you would need to relocate at your own expense.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

5+ years of work in an Enterprise Data Architect role

5+ years of hands-on experience in ETL and Data Warehouse design

3+ years of hands-on experience using complex data transformation methods and algorithms

Demonstrable design and development skills in data transformation with Spark / Scala within a hybrid Cloud environment

Hands-on experience in RDBMS design (i.e. DB2) and NoSQL technologies (ElasticSearch)

Familiarity with data structures (i.e. 3NF, 2NF, OLAP, OLTP, Star & Snowflake)

Design knowledge of Slowly Changing Dimension strategies

Techniques for dealing with Unknown, Not Applicable, Non conforming attribute values.

Design knowledge of surrogate key management real time data processing

Experience of working with cloud technologies (i.e. Kafka, Airflow, Object Storage)

Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, (i.e. Git, Jenkins, Tekton, Argo)

Experience of working with container platforms (i.e. OpenShift, Kubernetes)

Enterprise Data Architecture experience

Knowledge of data governance across multiple data sources including master and change data management

Previous experience working within Agile multi-project cloud transformations

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

Degree in Computer Science or closely-related field, or equivalent practical experience
