You'll become part of a diverse UX team, working closely with user researchers, visual designers, and interaction designers to continue shaping our culture of innovation, research, and product development.

The ideal candidate understands that user experience is not limited to the computer but expands to any system dealing with interactions. You have a portfolio beyond designing pages and features and have incorporated your design thinking of journeys, flows, and user-centered design patterns. You are skilled at breaking apart problems into manageable parts and confidently tackling each component.

Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize design solutions from ideation to completion using interaction design tools.
  • Help establish and reinforce consistent design patterns across multiple teams and platforms by maintaining interaction design specifications.
  • Educate the team on emerging trends and innovations in user experience design, human-computer interaction (HCI), interface technology, and product design.
  • Actively participate in team brainstorming and lead solution generation.
  • Communicate your ideas and lead collaborative sessions with engineers.
  • Utilize ideation and storytelling skills to communicate design ideas and create intuitive interactions effectively.
  • Push boundaries and create fresh interactions and interfaces for cross-platform products.
  • Create the correct documentation for the task at hand, ranging from whiteboard brainstorming sessions to wireframes, user flows, navigational structures, and experimental prototypes.
  • Advocate for the user while still maintaining an understanding of the value of business needs.
  • Create low and high-fidelity wireframes, user flows, and functional prototypes and help drive information architecture, customer journey maps, and other design methodologies.
  • Support our user research team in usability studies on prototypes and existing designs during various concept and product development phases.
  • Comprehend and visually articulate product requirements.
  • Play an active role in projects' concept, design, and execution phases across various interactive media such as responsive design, tablet, and mobile interfaces.
  • Strategically collaborate with user researchers, visual designers, product management, analytics, and engineering teams during research, design, development, testing, and product releases.
  • Educate others outside the User Experience team on user-centered design methodologies and advocate the benefits of good UX design.
  • Demonstrate an ability to influence leaders and facilitate alignment with clear decision-making.
    Qualifications

    Preferred Skills
    • You have a strong portfolio demonstrating breadth and depth in UX, interaction design, conceptual thinking, and creative problem-solving.
    • You're a human-centered UX designer that drives strategic product innovation and relentlessly raises the design bar by inspiring others.
    • You're an expert communicator at every level with the ability to flex between influencing stakeholders and inspiring team members.
    • You're a curious, passionate, data-driven problem solver.
    • You clearly and convincingly explain your decisions and perspective.
    • You understand people, technology, and how they interact.
    • You are empathetic.
    • You take pride in listening, communicating, and collaborating exceptionally well.
    • Great collaborator and team player - you understand user experience design is a team sport, and when we win, we win together.
    • You're motivated to work closely with cross-functional product, engineering, and research partners by developing design strategies.
    • You have strong self-management skills combined with working as a contributing member of a multidisciplinary team.
    • You have competency with Figma, Sketch, or other interaction design tools.
    • You are familiar with HTML, JavaScript, and CSS design capabilities to engage in educated conversations with engineering teams.
    • You have a clear understanding of relational databases and can comprehend how to use that understanding to develop mental modals for users.

      • 5+ years of UX or product design experience.
      • BA/BS degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors or other equivalent experience in a field related to product development.
