As a Product Specialist, responsible for leading order growth of Outdoor Dead Tank Breakers"product line by providing applications and technical support. This role provides an exciting opportunity to work closely with marketing , sales and product management teams as well as utility and industrial customers to promote a wide portfolio of recloser and grid automation products.

This position reports to

Local Product Group Manager

Your responsibilities

Lead Pre-sales activities in close collaboration with sales / marketing - interfacing with customers' technical and commercial teams
Support marketing and product management teams with commercial bids, including determination of product pricing and cost analysis
Lead Post sales customer support in collaboration with customer service and factory quality teams for installed fleet
Review and influence customer specifications and identify ABB products / solutions to meet those
Support product launches - provide and coordinate technical support on new products, support creation of publications and training aides in collaboration with Marketing communications team
Maintain competitive base of knowledge and serve as technical expert on reclosers and controls.
Conduct customer training seminars to help customer personnel in the application and the operation of the products and services.
Conduct technical analysis and generate solutions to resolve issues identified by customer, working closely with ABB Distribution Automation team
Participate in the specification of new products in conjunction with internal ABB product management by the application of first hand knowledge of competitive products and customer preferences.
Travel to customers to provide technical support on reclosers,
Work with product management on product enhancement requirements from customer to ensure customer desired product features are included on future product releases.
Work with Research and Development (R&D) to resolve product quality design issues with validation of L4 reporting and communication to customers.
Provide power system engineering, protection, and troubleshooting expertise

Your background

B.S. in Electrical Engineering, from an accredited college or university
Minimum 5 years of experience with medium or high voltage electrical products
Excellent technical training, speaking and writing skills
Ability to travel (US & Canada) up to 20%
Prior experience interfacing with electric utilities
Must be able to independently conduct presentations and training
Knowledge of protection ( relays ) & Controls highly desired preferred
Masters degree in Engineering or Business
Experience with developing pricing strategy
Experience preparing technical and commercial documentation for utility bids
Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
