Purpose: Responsible for planning and implementing risk management strategies, processes and programs. Manages resolution of incidents / problems throughout the information system lifecycle, including classification, prioritization and initiation of action, documentation of root causes and implementation of remedies. Development and execution of information risk controls and management strategies. Procures and governs information risk management services and consultants. The planning and implementation of organization-wide strategies, policies and programs for the management of operational risk. The resolution of incidents and problems throughout the information system lifecycle, including classification, prioritization and initiation of action, documentation of root causes and implementation of remedies. Apply lessons learned to adjust strategies and programs to reduce the risk or impact of incidents. The development of, execution of, and provision of expert advice on information risk controls and management strategies to maintain the confidentiality, integrity, availability, accountability and relevant compliance of information systems. Conduct and evaluate risk management assessments and advise management on risk mitigation and business impact. This role will specialize on a specific technology and/or risk management discipline and will have general knowledge in all areas of risk management. Examples of specialization areas can be any technology, technique, method, product or application area as they pertain to the disciplines of information security, privacy, disaster recovery, and regulatory compliance. Scope: Specific: Autonomy: Has authority and responsibility for all aspects of a significant area of work, including policy formation and application. Is held fully accountable for actions taken and decisions made, both by self and subordinates. Influence: Decisions critical to organizational success. Influences developments within information systems industry at highest levels. Advances exploitation of information systems within one or more organizations and/or the advancement of knowledge. Develops long-term strategic relationships with customers and industry leaders. Complexity: Leads on formulation and application of strategy. Work involves application of highest level management and leadership skills. Has deep understanding of information systems industry and emerging technologies and implications for the wider business environment. General: Recognized as an expert within the organization, both within and beyond own function Contributes to the development of strategy Anticipate internal and/or external business challenges / regulatory issues Recommend process, product or service improvements Decisions are guided by functional strategies and priorities May include international accountability; and may include some global scope/accountability Progression to this level is typically restricted on the basis of business requirements Primary Responsibilities: Plans and manages the implementation of organization-wide processes and procedures, tools and techniques for the identification, assessment and management of risk inherent in the operation of business processes and of potential risks arising from planned IT-enabled change. Protects and defends information and information systems by ensuring availability, integrity, authentication, confidentiality and non-repudiation. Provides consulting for restoration of information systems by ensuring that protection, detection and reaction capabilities are incorporated. Ensures that appropriate action is taken to investigate and resolve incidents and problems in systems and services. Ensures that such incidents and problems are fully documented within the relevant reporting systems. Coordinates the implementation of agreed remedies and preventative measures. Develops corporate information risk policies, standards and guidelines. Prepares and maintains organizational strategies that address the evolving business risk and information control requirements. Operates as a focus for information risk expertise for the organization, working effectively with strategic organizational functions such as corporate security, human resources, legal experts, business functions and technical operation support to provide authoritative advice and guidance on the requirements for controls. Provides organizational leadership and subject matter expertise in the areas of information risk management. Specific Tasks include: Business Risk Management: Advises on risk management policies, and assists with the creation and publication of strategies for managing risk to the continuing effective operation of the business. Plans and manages the implementation of organization-wide processes and procedures, tools and techniques across multiple information risk areas, for the identification, assessment, and management of risk inherent in the operation of business processes and of potential risks arising from planned IT-enabled change. Identifies and categorizes strategic and operational risks. Identifies and advises on emerging risk areas. Sets the course of action for the evaluation and mitigation of identified risks (including probability/frequency of occurrence, impact, and severity). Educates and influences key stakeholders to implement the course of action. Determine and drive an appropriate course action, including contingency planning, and countermeasures Information Assurance: Assesses legal and best practice issues, and promotes awareness of national and international laws, including those relating to availability, integrity, confidentiality, privacy, etc. Determines appropriate and practical performance measures, to ensure that information assurance priorities set by the business can be effectively monitored. In the context of Business Continuity, assesses protection, detection, and reaction capabilities, to determine whether they are sufficient to support restoration of information systems in a secure manner. Guides, encourages, leads, and develops junior colleagues, in the disciplines of Information assurance. Information Risk Manages assessment of threats to confidentiality, integrity, availability, accountability and relevant compliance. Takes ownership of security control reviews, business risk assessments, and reviews that follow significant breaches of security controls or IT service disruptions. Leads the development and promotion of the technical specialism. Initiates and authorizes release of quality standards and policies relating to the technical specialism. Maintains knowledge of the technical specialism at the most detailed and comprehensive level. Takes an active part in appropriate learned, professional and trade bodies. Keeps in close touch with and contributes to current developments in the technical specialism within Xerox, own industry and outside. Articulates best practice in the technical specialism. Takes full responsibility for specific assignments related to the technical specialism.
