Job Description: The Infrastructure Service Architect partners with internal leaders enhance infrastructure services. The primary focus is on O365 collaboration services and other collaboration services, but integration of other authentication and network services is critical. The Infrastructure Service Architect facilitates design and implementation of flexible, scalable, and cost-effective solutions, providing technical guidance across delivery teams. Job Responsibilities: Serves as infrastructure subject matter expert to business teams, project teams, and vendors to apply and execute appropriate use of technology solutions. Consults with senior management, engineering staff and project teams to deliver technical solutions Accountable for adhering to enterprise corporate architecture standards, ensuring technology standards and best practices are maintained across the organization and contributing to corporate architecture strategy-setting. Proactively identifies evolving technologies and tools that can be employed to improve service delivery quality in support of business needs. Understands current methodologies and frameworks for effectively delivering infrastructure improvements and transformations. Communicates effectively across all levels within the organization, translating complex technology and process concepts to different constituents' understanding. Leads governance processes of new technologies and solutions to ensure consistent technology life cycle management. Participates in formulating solution estimates and work planning including determining appropriate task sequencing and identification of technical skill sets required. Participates in the evaluation, selection and implementation of technology solutions including providing detailed analysis of pros and cons and build vs buy options. Maintains operational, architectural, and design documentation including procedures and architecture descriptive documentation. Evaluates strengths and flaws in infrastructure architecture including performance, quality, availability, simplicity of design, security and total cost of ownership. Facilitates project handoffs including preparing documentation, educating and supporting to ensure smooth transitions. Establishes and maintains relationships with IT and business area partners and provides consultation to XDX and business teams. Troubleshoots, recommends, and executes action plans for issue resolution. Selects and designs tools that allow reuse of design components and patterns between projects. Continually works to enhance breadth and depth of knowledge and experience. Benchmarks technology strategies and architectures. Monitors and anticipates trends and investigates organizational objectives and needs. Prepares benchmarking reports and presentations. Promotes implementation of new technology, solutions, and methods to improve business processes, efficiency, effectiveness and value delivered to customers. Develops actual working solutions or prototypes based and resolves any issues that arise. Establishes and maintains vendor relationships to review and evaluate designs and controls and influence changes in future product releases. Skill and Competency Requirements: Bachelor's in a technology or engineering 5 years defining, implementing, and maintaining enterprise infrastructure technology solutions with specific emphasis on O365 and collaboration services. O365 tenant administration skills are critical. 5 years evaluating and negotiating with service providers to deliver high quality, stable solutions for infrastructure services. Excellent communication and collaboration skills (written and verbal) Has broad commercial and technical expertise, often in a variety of environments. Demonstrates the leadership skills needed to handle innovation and change resulting from the implementation of new information and communications technology solutions. Possesses a good level of management skills, with emphasis on interpersonal and negotiating skills. Is familiar with the requirements of the organization for products and services and with the use of the products and services which are the subjects of the agreements. Have sound commercial, organizational, time management, negotiation and resource management skills. Ability to prioritize work activities. Pays attention to detail. Is skilled in conducting meetings and team management. Has a broad knowledge and understanding of IT concepts, current and emerging architectures, coupled with practical knowledge of problem management and the principles and processes of implementing and delivering IT services Demonstrated ability for systematically analyzing and managing problems arising from incidents in the operation of information systems. Has general awareness of the nature of business-critical incidents, and of their implications for the business. Demonstrated ability to become thoroughly familiar with the services and products delivered and the tools, methods, procedures, equipment and software used in the operation and management of the service. Has the ability to lead teams successfully, when handling complex or high impact problems. Excellent demonstrated verbal, written and presentation skills.
