What you will be doing

Prepares, routes and manages clients' shipping orders domestically and internationally. Main duties include reviewing shipment materials before distributions, collaborating with transportation systems to ensure prompt shipment pick-ups and monitoring shipment costs and productivity processes.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Facilitates communication between client, shipper, consignee, sales and operations to promote a healthy and efficient supply chain. Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating transportation providers to ensure prompt and proper movement of shipments
  • Manage team call queue and e-mail box by responding to customer inquiries via phone or email
  • Referring clients to the proper channels for support
  • Reviewing shipping orders and shipping documents to ensure accuracy
  • Making special shipping arrangements as necessary
  • Monitor shipments to ensure timely pick-up and delivery
  • Addressing and resolving shipping errors
  • Ensure accurate date is entered into transportation system
  • Ensuring the quality of all services provided meets the required standards
  • Developing processes that make the supply chain more efficient and organized

    What your background should look like

    EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

    Associate or bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management or a related field preferred
    Experience in logistics and/or operations management

    MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

    Soft skills and industry knowledge of best practices to maintain and improve the stages of the supply chain. Those skills often include:
    • Effective communication, including writing, speaking and interpersonal communication
    • Attention to details, quick critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities
    • Excellent customer service and client relations skills
    • Keep organization and time management skills
    • Good collaboration and teamwork abilities
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
    • Ability to use computers, software and other technology for managing shipping orders and communication purposes
    • Understanding of supply chain, including common obstacles and effective solutions
