job summary:
The SAP PP Specialist will be reporting directly to the Senior
Manager, and will have an important role in the Plan to Produce
area and support our manufacturing business to be successful.
The SAP PP resource will be expected to be hands-on expert in SAP
PP and other functional areas. The position may require some travel
within the Americas and internationally. Having an excellent
customer focus and service orientation is key for this
position.
Scope of Responsibilities
- Hands on in SAP Plan to Produce solution design, configuration,
and support in ECC and S/4 Hana (future)
- Responsible for working with other areas within SAP like
FICO/SD/QM/WM/MM/MDG to provide a comprehensive solution
- Develop a deep understanding of our business processes and
strategy through collaboration and regular engagement with key
stakeholders and process owners, and translate the business
requirements into functionalities within SAP
- Responsible for clearly explaining, educating, and recommending
the business partners when to use the different functionalities of
the system, based on specific pros and cons of each alternative
(example: Discrete Manufacturing Vs. Process Manufacturing)
- Research, document, and communicate best practices utilizing
SAP best practices and industry best practices in the Plan to
Produce area
- Responsible for implementation of support application
maintenance processes and SLAs in all areas of responsibility
(break fix, preventive and minor enhancements )
- Provide support and take leadership in the Plan to Produce area
including establishing standards and requirements, evaluating
enhancements, and implementing solutions for, and systems
configuration, design and implementation.
- Production support: As a key support resource for SAP North
Americas support organization, address all SAP support tickets in
the SAP PP area based on prioritization in a timely manner.
Recording incidents, working on root cause analysis, and providing
permanent resolutions working with internal technical teams to
resolve the issue and avoid them from happening repeatedly
- Documentation: Responsible for development of detailed
documentation related to business processes mapped and implemented
within SAP including documentation of the downstream and upstream
system impacts.
- Build partnerships with internal customers and other systems
owners within North America and globally
- Collaborating with 3rd party SAP AMS provider(s) in a
co-sourcing model
- Participate in the global Change Control Board as required.
- Support internal and external audits
- Maintain standards for application maintenance support tools
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in a Logistics or Engineering - related
field, or equivalent experience required.
- 8+ years hands-on work experience in SAP PP is required in a
business facing role (consulting or analyst position)
- Experience as key PP resource in multiple SAP implementations
with demonstrated consulting experience in the planning and
manufacturing process areas. One full life-cycle global SAP S/4
Hana project is required.
- Technical Expertise :
- Must have experience in the overall production planning process
- Forecasting, Demand Planning, production Planning, Capacity
levelling
- Must have experience in Production execution under discreet
manufacturing and process manufacturing
- Must have experience in the definition of master data elements
as they pertain to the manufacturing processes - BOMS, Routings,
recipes, Work centers, materials, production variants, Batches
(including characteristic derivation)
- Must have exposure to QM including in-process inspections and
post-production inspections
- Experience in integration between SAP PP and Shop floor control
systems or manufacturing execution systems is a plus
- Experience working with and understanding of product costing is
desirable
- Experience working in a process manufacturing or a chemical
manufacturing industry with dangerous goods management and
regulated substances is a plus
- Additional experience in WM, PM or PS is a plus
- Good working knowledge of barcoding and/or label printing
solutions in the context of manufacturing process
- Ability to effectively communicate with Business SME's,
Technical IT team members and as well as end users across the globe
(excellent verbal and written communication skills)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Must demonstrate an excellent track record of delivering
results
- Demonstrated quality end to end Plan to Production execution
training including integration points to other modules
- Ability to work autonomously with little guidance
- A team player who works well with distributed, multi-cultural,
