    What You'll Do
    Role Overview:
    This opening is for a Receiving Lead (internally called Shipping & Receiving Lead), with a primary focus on Receiving. The Receiving Lead will oversee the timely and efficient receiving, processing, and distribution of incoming packages and coordinate pickups with carriers. They will also manage inventory levels across the building and organize the warehouse areas. This role involves assisting production shippers to process shipments as needed. The shift will be Monday - Friday, 7am - 4pm.

    • Serve as a primary point of contact for all Receiving processes
      
      
      • 
        
      • Receiving of incoming shipments according to Proto Labs Procedures and Work Instructions - to ensure the integrity of the Inventory system
        
      • Assessing inventory in areas such as the warehouse, break room, office supply closet etc.,and resupplying as needed
        
        
        • 
          
        • Act as subject matter expert for the building regarding all things relating to Ax, Receiving and Warehouse spaces.
          
        • Prepare and coordinate shipments to/from Proto Labs using UPS, FED EX, LTL carriers or couriers, including communicating shipping weights and dimensions as well as Safety Data sheets, Certificates of Conformance, Bill of Lading and other shipping documentation.
          
        • Proactively correspond with our Buyers to Identify and locate the destinations for Packages, Equipment, and Supplies that are received.
          
        • Organizes, plans, and prioritizes daily workload and activities in each functional receiving area to meet daily goals

          • Determine when additional support is required to process received goods for the day, as well as filling in other areas as needed
            
            
            • 
              
            • Provides guidance and expert advice on properly scheduling pickups and item removal
              
            • Identifies training needs and conducts training on equipment, operations, and all work and safety procedures
              
            • Provides best practices and methods for packing customer parts with regards to the intricacies of each technology
              
            • Scan customer product related documents and process accordingly
              
            • Continually seek to improve work processes and individual performance
              
            • Provide constructive feedback of issues on process, personnel, training, etc.
              
            • Maintain clean and organized work area with emphasis on safety, quality, efficiency, and utilization
              
            • Observe all Proto Labs Safety and Quality Procedures
              
            • Perform additional tasks as assigned
              
              
              What You Need:
              
              • 
                
              • Minimum 1 year experience in the Shipping & Rec. department
                
              • Minimum 6 months experience receiving products/orders

                    Physical Demands:
                    While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is expected to sit and stand for the entire shift, lift up to 50 pounds waist high, carry up to 50 pounds alone. Essential job duties require reaching, bending, and grasping. Able to read machine-shop gages and indicators.
                    
                    Work Environment:
                    Primarily sedentary work performed in an office environment with periods of high concentration and visual focus while analyzing 3-D data. Additional time spent in a laboratory environment with exposure to chemicals and dust. Periods of intense priority setting when accommodating full, tight and changing build schedules. Periods of elevated noise level during interaction with the Finishing Department.
