About the role!

As a CBRE Laboratory Instrument Services Sr. Technician, you will calibrate, maintain, and complete the major repairs of scientific instrumentation.

The Senior LIS Technician will also provide calibration and service support for our Certification program to include Fume Hoods, BSCs, and HEPA Filters. The position will also help support any additional services across Full Spectrum Lab Services where technician's skill set could support.

The position will require up to 65% overnight travel both domestically and potentially internationally if needed to support business practices.

What you'll do

  • Perform service and certification for fume hoods, clean rooms, HEPA filters, BSCs, and other similar products.
  • Learn and perform calibrations/certifications utilizing IndySoft or other Full Spectrum calibration software platforms.
  • Maintain an up-to-date ticketing, workflow, and notes to ensure proper start and finish of work performed.
  • Provide training sessions with customers both internally and externally in regards to Full Spectrum Lab Services.
  • Take apart, examine, clean, fix, calibrate, check, and take care of lab instrumentation, systems, and controls.
  • Troubleshoot, service or resolve problems while performing unscheduled work.
  • Record and report abnormal functions or out-of-tolerance conditions of equipment. If needed, start corrective action and documentation.
  • Review and document daily records of inspections, maintenance activity, repairs, and other work performed.
  • Coordinate with external contractors on repairs covered by maintenance agreements. Communicate with customer staff and outside contractors about the calibration, repair, and operation of equipment.
  • Track instrument and part reliability; make alternate service, supplier, and parts recommendations.
  • Assisting with the development of equipment maintenance, and calibration procedures.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values.

  • Work within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
  • Exchange straightforward information, ask questions, and check for understanding.

    What you'll need

    • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 2-3 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Must have appropriate license or certification where required by law.
    • 8 - 10 years experience working in a monitoring or certification role, with extensive knowledge of Pharma and other regulated industries (GxP, ISO, ASTM).
    • Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
    • Ability to use existing procedures to solve standard problems and an attention to detail.
    • Experience with analyzing information and standard practices to make judgments.
    • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
    • Organizational skills with a strong inquisitive mindset.
    • Intermediate math skills. Ability to calculate difficult figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.
    • CETA, NSF, and NEBB certification is a plus.
    • Basic mechanical background.
    • Strong communication skills.
