Contract-to-hire job opportunity
 
Modis is seeking to fill a CA Wily/(APM) Consulting Engineering job with a major client in Raleigh, NC. This is excellent opportunity to become a part of large enterprise and corporate environment with a highly favored organization in this area. The successful candidate will would be responsible for working with APM tools and monitoring tools to help the client focus on performance improvements and issues in key applications.  He or she will work in a new function that is being rolled out under the Enterprise Systems Management team. The exciting news, you will be a part of the implementation of State of the Art Technology.
 
Specific duties and responsibilities of the CA/(APM) Consulting Engineer
job include:
 
This individual will be introducing a new function at the centers on performance monitoring.  There will be other IT analysts who work with this individual on a virtual team that will be focused on identifying and addressing application performance issues in the entire SDLC lifecycle.  The primary job responsibilities will be:
• Assist in major incident troubleshooting especially when performance is the issue.
• Take initiative to proactively reach out to teams with application performance issues and align metrics with SLA’s.
• Work to embed APM tools in the SDLC process and to mature the bank’s APM capabilities.
• Work with app teams and key business partners to build SLAs around application performance and availability.
• Own performance testing and reporting for critical applications during all SDLC lifecycle phases.
• Strive for continuous application performance improvement.  Continue to mature APM capabilities for the bank.
• Be the single source for IT application performance improvement and performance incident resolution.
 
Qualifications:
Skilled in architecting, installing, configuring and using APM tools especially DynaTrace.
• Ability to train application teams on APM tools including DynaTrace.
• A solid understanding of many different types of application infrastructures both in the UNIX and Windows environment.
• Experience working with multiple monitoring tools.  
• Experience setting up alerting thresholds for application performance settings.
• Deep understanding of application and infrastructure components and how they interact.
• Excellent communication skills - must be able to communicate effectively with both IT and business partner teams to help identify performance and service issues.
